Facts are a funny thing. You can’t escape them eventually. Sometimes I guess it just takes a while to get to them, or to get people to believe them. Maybe that’s the harder part. During this forced shutdown of the economy, we are continually told that lawmakers are following “the science”. Well I gotta tell you…the science has changed. The stats have changed…drastically. But is our policy changing with it? With the emergence of antibody testing, we are finding out some incredible stats that put COVID-19 in perspective.

Let’s be honest, these are tough times. There’s a lot of uncertainty, leading to a lot of stress, and we’re spending more time on our computers and phones because of it - either because we’re hooked on reading the latest news, or discovering the latest memes, or doing any number of other things that we do when we’re bored. This is detrimental to our back and neck health - especially if you are forced to now work from home, where you may have a less than optimal desk setup. Feel free to reference an earlier blog about how our posture is affected by our reliance on phones and computers. To combat the poor posture that will increase your back and neck pain, you need a routine (and tools) that will help you mobilize your spine and get it out of the forward-rounded posture.

I love statistics. Wait, let me clarify that. I love accurate statistics that can be relied on to help you see things that you otherwise would not see. I abhor when statistics are manipulated to fit an agenda. This is generally why I hate political polls. It’s extremely rare that they show the truth because they are manipulated to shows whatever the person who analyzes it is looking to convince others of. I also hate statistics that are inaccurate because of their methods. This has been a spotlight for me in the recent pandemic. The nation and the world hinge on the release of every day’s numbers of infected and deaths…but they are inherently inaccurate.

Let’s talk about the Coronavirus! Everyone else is; we figured we should jump on the bandwagon. So for those of you who are currently getting all your medical information from our podcast and blogs, this is for you.

Easier said than done, isn’t it? As our lives continue to revolve around electronic devices, our posture declines. Who sits at a computer for 8 hours a day with perfect posture? No one. Who always holds their cell phone up high whenever they look at it to avoid from straining their neck, looking down? No one. Our normal every day routines do not encourage good posture. So we have to be diligent and consistent in our fight against gravity.
